Daily Worship for the Week of 3/15

Daily Worship - March 16-21, 2015
"Let us be grateful for receiving a kingdom that cannot be shaken, and thus let us offer
to God acceptable worship with reverence and awe." Hebrews 12:28

Psalm 147:1-3
    1Praise the LORD!
         For it is good to sing praises to our God;
         for it is pleasant, and a song of praise is fitting.
    2The LORD builds up Jerusalem; he gathers the outcasts of Israel.
    3He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds.

“When I Survey the Wondrous Cross” (vv. 1-2)
When I survey the wondrous cross, on which the prince of glory died
  My richest gain I count but loss, and pour contempt on all my pride.
Forbid it, Lord, that I should boast, save in the death of Christ my God:
  All the vain things that charm me most, I sacrifice them to his blood.

Westminster Shorter Catechism Question 22
Q. How did Christ, being the Son of God, become man?
A.  Christ, the Son of God, became man, by taking to himself a true body and a reasonable soul, being conceived by the power of the Holy Ghost in the womb of the virgin Mary, and born of her, yet without sin.

Family Prayer

The Lord’s Prayer
Our Father, who art in Heaven, hallowed be Thy name.  Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.  Give us this day, our daily bread and forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors.  And lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil.  For Thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory forever.  Amen.

“When I Survey the Wondrous Cross” (vv. 3-4)
See from his head, his hands, his feet, sorrow and love flow mingled down:
  Did e’er such love and sorrow meet, or thorns compose so rich a crown?
Were the whole realm of nature mine, that were a present far too small;
  Love so amazing, so divine, demands my soul, my life, my all.
