Welcome to EP Church Nursery!

We want our nursery to be a very positive experience for you and your child.  Each child is very special and we want them to feel loved, comfortable, and secure.  We make every effort to insure that this ministry will glorify God in each detail. Below, are policies we recommend and follow to ensure that our nursery program is a success.  We are happy to be a part of your child’s Christian Education.  If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to talk to me.

Nursery Coordinator

Service Times

Our nursery is available for Sunday School, Morning Worship, Evening Worship, Wednesday mornings for WIC, Wednesday evenings for WFN and for special events.  All nurseries are open 15 minutes prior to these events.  They close promptly at the end of the service.  Please pick up your children before visiting with friends.

Sign–In and Pick-Up –

Upon arrival, please sign the attendance form.

On Sunday mornings we use a numbered tag system to ensure that your child is released only to you or other authorized adult.  Each time you take your child to their room, you will be given a label to fill out.  One part of the label goes on the child and the other you will hold.

When you return to pick up your child, you must return the card.  Your child will not be released unless the card is returned.  No siblings under 12 will be allowed to pick up the nursery children.

Using the label tag, please make sure that all bottles, bags, pacifiers, cups, etc are labeled.

Upon Leaving -

When it is time for the parent to leave, each child will react differently.  You know best how much of a farewell your child needs.  Please make the separation experience as easy on the nursery workers as possible.  They will try to offer assistance in distracting and comforting the child.  Try to refrain from “peeking in” to see your child, as this may cause the child to become upset again.  If your child is upset for longer than 10 minutes, the nursery worker will notify you and you can decide if you want to return to your child.  However, if your child is inconsolable and in need of so much attention that the care of other children is being compromised, the worker will ask that you return to your child.

You may take a beeper for peace of mind.

Illness

We realize it is disappointing to miss church, but out of love for one another and to prevent the spread of illness, we ask that you keep your child at home if any of the following conditions apply:

*Fever or Diarrhea with the past 24 hours

*Taking an antibiotic for less than 24 hours

*Runny nose that is thick and cloudy

*Loose, frequent cough

*Exposure to any contagious illness

Mothers of Infants

If you are nursing your child, we have a nursing room outside the sanctuary door in the nursery hallway.  There is a changing table, rocking chairs, and you can listen to the service on the radio.  There are a few toys in the room, if you need to take a younger child with you.

Emergency –

If there is an emergency the nursery workers will take the children in the evacuation cribs out of the building to the front entrance driveway and wait there.  The nursery workers have access to a phone in the infant room if there is an emergency.
