Cherry Crest Adventure Farm Bonfire and Corn Maze

For all youth:

We will meet at EP Church at 4:15PM and then drive to Cherry Crest Adventure Farm on Pennsylvania where we will play games in the corn mazes and then eat hot dogs and s'mores around a bonfire.

Be sure to dress appropriately for the maze (close-toed shoes and long pants are best... it could be muddy and we'll be running) and to bring a flashlight since it will get dark. Also, bring $20 per youth for corn maze entry. EP Church will provide bonfire and food.

Please let Pastor Anthony know if you (or your youth) plan on attending or if you want to volunteer to drive.

Reformation Celebration

Main Slides EP(3).png

You can read the Bible on your phone because of Luther.

We love and treasure the Word of God. The Scriptures are our sole source for doctrine and practice. The Scriptures deliver Christ to us, and for this we rejoice.

Luther desired that every person have access to the Word of God. He translated the Bible into German so that every person could read it. A result of Luther’s translation was the proliferation of Bible translations, and today, the multiplicity of media through which God’s Word is freely available.

We want to celebrate Reformation Day this year with an evening of food, singing, fellowship, a sermon from Luther, and games. The evening is for the entire family.

Each family is asked to bring a starch (buttered egg noodles, boiled potatoes, or rolls). EP will provide Bratwurst, German Goulash, desserts and drinks. So that we can get an accurate headcount please sign up on-line below or at the information counter.

If you have questions please contact Amy Houston or David Rose.

Women's Bible Study Fellowship Begins!

20.png

Our Women's Bible Study Fellowship study book this fall is From Garden to Glory by Courtney Doctor.  Courtney is also the 2018 PCA Women One Conference speaker in Annapolis, Sept. 28-29.

This book cost $17 and is well worth it.  There are 10 lessons broken down in daily studies for you to complete.  Contact Ann Beattie if you would like to order a book. Make checks out to Women’s Bible Study & Fellowship once your book arrives.

Book Description: The Bible, from Genesis to Revelation, is a beautiful, epic, and cohesive story. It is the story of how our eternal God is on a grand mission to redeem and restore his rebellious and wayward children. But it is not a story meant to merely inform us. The story itself is meant to transform us and invite us to participate in this glorious redemption of all things!

If you have any questions or would like to help out with childcare, contact Mary Nairn.

Update: Sign Ups for Dinner on Saturday Night are Closed

Many have expressed a desire to be equipped to respond to the questions of gender and sexuality constantly pushed by our culture. There is a desire for greater understanding to answer difficult questions with truth, grace and love. There is a desire for our young people to be equipped as they are facing these questions from peers.

As a congregation, we are facing these questions right now. This conference is not addressing a speculative concern, but is designed to equip the saints right where we are. Knowing how to answer the questions and challenges among us from a Biblical, Christ-centered point of view is vital for our own discipleship and our witness. Consider also that you may have a friend who is either struggling to address these questions or needs your support when caring for a loved one or family member. Being equipped can help you draw close to them in time of need. Indeed, it is tragic when we heard of people withdrawing from the Body of Christ at the moment when they need help the most.

Rev. Tim Geiger (M.Div.) is a national leader in this subject area. He has spoken with wide acclaim at our General Assembly and in many other forums. Ellen Dykas, M.A. is well known to many among us. But, she has more to offer that we have not yet heard as a congregation. We are blessed to be able to benefit from the knowledge and experience of Harvest USA.

When we were considering this conference I spoke to Rev. Kevin Koslowsky at Faith Presbyterian Church in Wilmington. He gave an enthusiastic endorsement, noting that the conference was well received across the whole spectrum of their church.
