Sign up for The Suffering Servant - Choir Festival
A wonderful event combining different church families to encourage one another, fellowship, share experiences… and sing together!
For this year, we asked five composers to write new music specifically for this event. All new compositions and arrangements are based on a single theme: The Suffering Servant (Isaiah 52:13-15 and 53).
We have new music from Rob Ellis, John Lasher, Mark Reagan, Ralph Manuel and David Giardiniere - a variety of styles and interpretations of the biblical text!
The event includes choirs from:
Emmanuel Orthodox Presbyterian Church - Gretchen Lort
Evangelical Presbyterian Church - Higo Rodrigues
Faith Presbyterian Church - Christopher Kraus, Dr. David Giardiniere
Ogletown Baptist Church - Kelly Morris
White Clay Creek Presbyterian Church - Tracey Wallace
When: Saturday, August 31, 2019
Rehearsal starts at 2pm
This will be followed by a FREE Concert at 7pm at Evangelical Presbyterian Church of Newark
Cost: the cost for each singer is $9. This will go towards remuneration for accompanist (piano/organ, oboe, cello), music sheet and dinner.
If cost is an issue, please email Dr. Rodrigues (hhrod at outlook.com) or speak with your choir director about scholarships that are available.
